  2. English2

By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

    African Kalanga

iyo inomutjidza ha mubhatilila mu ili. Kuhhe kwekuti mube muli gelilemoyo suli.

  3. English3

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

    African Kalanga

    Ngobe ndakamuswiswa tjikulu kwazo tjili itjo tjandakaamutjilabo, kuti Khirisiti wakafila matjinyo edu sekwa kwakakwagwa mu whalo dze Ndzimu;

  4. English4

that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

    African Kalanga

    Nekuti wakabiganyiwa nenge kuti wakamusiwa mu bafi mu hhuba le butatu sekwa kwakakwagwa mu whalo;

  5. English5

and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.

    African Kalanga

nenge kuti wakabong'wa ndi Pita, ngono kubva ipapo kabong'wa ne batumwa baligumi lina babili.

  6. English6

After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.

    African Kalanga

Kubva ipapo wakazwilakidza ku makamu anopinda mazana mahanu (500) lubaka gung'ompela, ngono bunji gwabo batjatjila, nenguba bamwe bakatjitjinyika.

  7. English7

Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,

    African Kalanga

Kubva ipapo kazwilakidza kuna Jakubo, ngono hule kwa ipapo kaboneka ku batumwa bose ba Jesu.

  8. English8

and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

    African Kalanga

Imi se ndinga nhu wakazwagwa nge lubaka gusi igo, wakaboneka kundili gwe bupelo.

  9. English9

For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

    African Kalanga

Ngobe ndimi ntukununu tjose mu batumwa babe na iko andizolizana kudang'wa ntumwa, ngobe ndakadziyidza gubungano le Ndzimu.

  10. English10

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

    African Kalanga

Koga nditja ndili itjo ne ngoni dze Ndzimu, ngono ngoni dzawo kundili adzizobe suli. Koga ndakahinga kwazo kupinda mmwe ne mmwe we batumwa bamwe, ngono kwakabe kusi imi, koga dzili ngoni dze Ndzimu dzi nami.

  11. English11

Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

    African Kalanga

Kene kwakabe kuli imi ndakasumikila kene kuli ibo, yetji nditjo tjatinosumikila ngono nditjo tjamunogalamoyo.

  12. English12

But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

    African Kalanga

Sangwenu ha tisumikila kuti Khirisiti wakamusiwa mu bafi, ini bamwe benyu beti akuna kumuka kwe bafi?

  13. English13

If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.

    African Kalanga

Ngono ha kusina kumuka kwe bafi, kobva kuti na iye Khirisiti aazomusiwa.

  14. English14

And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.

    African Kalanga

Ngono ha Khirisiti asakamusiwa mu bafi, tosumikilila suli namwi mogalilamoyo suli.

  15. English15

More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.

    African Kalanga

Kukulu pana ikoku, towang'wa tili batendeki be manyepkhwa nekwe Ndzimu, ngobe takatendeka nekwe Ndzimu kuti wakamusa Khirisiti mu bafi, ngono ha ali malebeswa kuti bafi abatomusiwa, ipapo Ndzimu auzomusa Khirisiti mu bafi.

  16. English16

For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either.

    African Kalanga

Ngono ha bafi basingamusiwe, ipapo na Khirisiti aazomusiwa mu bafi.

  17. English17

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

    African Kalanga

Ha Khirisiti asakamusiwa mu bafi, kugalamoyo kwenyu akuna n’hingo, kakale mutji mu zwibi zwenyu.

  18. English18

Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.

    African Kalanga

Ipapo ibabo bakafa bali mu kubhatana na Khirisiti bakaloba.

  19. English19

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

    African Kalanga

Ha kugalabgwe kwedu muna Khirisiti kuli kwe butjilo guno koga, ipapo towhisa ngoni kupinda mmwe ne mmwe nhu mu hango.

  20. English20

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

    African Kalanga

Koga malebeswa kuti Khirisiti wakamusiwa mu bafi, ali iye mbano ya ibabo bakayizela mu lufu.

  21. English21

For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.

    African Kalanga

Ngono se lufu gwakahha ne nhu ne kumuka mu bafi kwakahhabo ne nhu.

  22. English22

For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

    African Kalanga

Ngono se banhu bose befa nekwa Adamu, sa ikokobo bose banowotjidziwa nekwa Khirisiti.

  23. English23

But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

    African Kalanga

Koga mmwe ne mmwe unomusiwa mu lufu ne ndongoloso yakanlingisana: Khirisiti wakamusiwa kutanga; ngono pa kuhha kukwe batobeli babe banowomusiwa.

  24. English24

Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.

    African Kalanga

Ipapo bhelelo lowobe lihha; Khirisiti paanowopindisila buHe ku Ndzimu kuna Tate hule kwe akolomodza kose milayo ye hango ne mibuso ne masimba ayo,

  25. English25

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

    African Kalanga

ngobe Khirisiti wakafanilo busa kudzina Ndzimu ubiga zwita zwizwe kusi kwe makumbo awe.

  26. English26

The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

    African Kalanga

    Tjita tje bupelo kulobesiwa lufu.

  27. English27

For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.

    African Kalanga

Ngobe whalo dze Ndzimu dzoti “Ndzimu wakabiga zwinhu zose kusi kwe makumbo awe.” Kupatjena kuti matama anoti, “zwinhu zose” zwakabigwa kusi kwe makumbo awe. Akutobva Ndzimu iwo wakabiga zwinhu zose kusi kwa Khirisiti.

  28. English28

When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

    African Kalanga

Ha zwinhu zose zwabigwa kusi kukwe, ipapo Nkololo ne kukwe, unowozwibiga kusi kwe Ndzimu, iwo wakabiga zwinhu zose kusi kukwe, kuti Ndzimu ube tjimwe ne tjimwe ku mmwe ne mmwe.

  29. English29

Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?

    African Kalanga

Ngono ngwenu ibabo banhu banobvubikigwa bafi, banowotini? Ha ili kuti bafi abatomusiwa tjose, ini banhu bebvubikigwa bafi?

  30. English30

And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour?

    African Kalanga

Ngono ne kwedu, ini tizwilonga mu mbatsha lubaka gumwe ne gumwe.

  31. English31

I die every day–I mean that, brothers–just as surely as I glory over you in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    African Kalanga

Makamu, ndofa hhuba ne hhuba! Ndozwiloba fuba ne kwenyu muna Khirisiti Jesu He wedu.

  32. English32

If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus for merely human reasons, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”

    African Kalanga

Ndobuyigwa neni ha ndilebeleka se nhu koga. Ha ndakagwa ne zwibandana ku Efeso ne mazwiwo e banhu, ndakabuyigwa neni? Ha bafi basingamusiwe, “Ngatidleni ting'we, ngobe mangwana tofa.”

  33. English33

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

    African Kalanga

Musitjengedzeke, “Bakhwinya basakalulwama banotjinya mazwiibhato akanaka.”

  34. English34

Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God–I say this to your shame.

    African Kalanga

Musani mikumbulo yenyu, muletje kutjinya. Bamwe benyu abatoziba Ndzimu. Ndoleba ikoku mwaza kumubhatisa honi.

  35. English35

But someone may ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”

    African Kalanga

Koga mmwe ungabhuzwa kati, “Bafi banomusiwa tjini? Banowoboneka bali mu mbili wakatini?”

  36. English36

How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.

    African Kalanga

Tjilengwe ndiwe! Tjaunodzwala atjitomela tjisafa kutanga.

  37. English37

When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else.

    African Kalanga

Ngono tjaunodzwala ate uli mmela iwo unowobepo, i mbewu koga, pamwe ili ye pfunde pamwe ili ye tjimwe tjipoga.

  38. English38

But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body.

    African Kalanga

Koga Ndzimu unoipa mbili wawada, unopa imwe ne imwe mbewu mbili wakafanila.

  39. English39

All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another.

    African Kalanga

Ngono nyama aitofanana yose, kuna nyama ye banhu, kuna ye mhuka, nyunyi dzina ipoga, ngono whobe ipogabo.

  40. English40

There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.

    African Kalanga

Kuna mibili ye kudzimu kakale kuna mibili ye hango, koga bubuya gwe mibili ye kudzimu gosiyana ne bubuya gwe mibili ye hango.

  41. English41

The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

    African Kalanga

Kuna bubuya gwe hhuba ne gumwe bubuya gwe mwedzi ne gumwe gwe nyenyedzi; ngono nyenyedzi inosiyana ne imwe nyenyedzi ne bubuya.

  42. English42

    So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;

    African Kalanga

Kumuka kwe bafi kowobe kwakajalo. Mbili unotshigwa se mbewu ivukidziwa ne unobola koga unomusiwa ne usingabole.

  43. English43

    it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;

    African Kalanga

Unovumbikiwa wakabipa, ukamusiwa wakanaka. Unotshigwa usina simba, ukamusiwa una simba.

  44. English44

it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

    African Kalanga

Unoti udzwagwa ukabe uli mbili we tjinyama, unowoti umusiwa ukabe uli mbili we tjimeya sekwa kuna mbili we tjinyama ne mbili we tjimeya uyapobo.

  45. English45

So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a lifegiving spirit.

    African Kalanga

Kwakakwagwa kukayi, “Nhu we kutanga Adamu wakabumbiwa ali tjitjili tjinotjila,” Adamu we bupelo kabe Meya inopa butjilo.

  46. English46

The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.

    African Kalanga

Ate tjili tjimeya tjakahha kutanga koga tjinyama, hule kube kuhha tjimeya.

  47. English47

The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven.

    African Kalanga

Nhu we kutanga, wakabe ali we whuluba ye hango koga nhu we bubili wakabe ebva kudzimu.

  48. English48

As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.

    African Kalanga

Se kwakabe kuli nhu we whuluba, ibabo be whuluba bakajalobo; ngono nhu we kudzimu sekwa ali iko, ibabo be kudzimu bakajalobo.

  49. English49

And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven.

    African Kalanga

Koga sekwa takabe mu tjifano tje nhu we vu, towobebo mu tjifano tje nhu we kudzimu.

  50. English50

I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

    African Kalanga

Ndomubudza, makamu, nyama ne malopa azwingapfuwe buHe gwe Ndzimu, kene kunobola akungapfuwe kusingabole.

  51. English51

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed–

    African Kalanga

Bonani! Ndomubudza masazibgwe. Atitowofa tose, koga tose towohandugwa,

  52. English52

in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

    African Kalanga

mu lubaka gufupi fupi, mu kubonya kwe hhiho, nsi we lunyanga gwe bupelo. Lunyanga gowolila, kakale bafi banowomusiwa bali basingatjabole, ngono iswi towohandugwa.

  53. English53

For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

    African Kalanga

Ngobe mbili iwoyu unobola unowoambala kusabola ne mbili iwoyu unofa unowoambala kusafa.

  54. English54

When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

    African Kalanga

Panowobe tjinobola tjaambala tjisingabole ne tjinofa tjaambala tjisingafe, ipapo kowohingikala tjakakwagwa kuyi, “Lufu gwamidziwa ne kukundiwa!”

  55. English55

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

    African Kalanga

“Lufu, kukunda kuko kuponi? Lufu, lubolela gugo guponi?”

  56. English56

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

    African Kalanga

Lubolela gwe lufu i jinyo, ngono simba le jinyo nlayo.

  57. English57

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

    African Kalanga

Koga ngakubokiwe Ndzimu, iwo unotipa kukunda ndi Jesu Khirisiti.

  58. English58

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

    African Kalanga

Ndizo ngwenu, makamu angu anodika, simani, musingazunguziwe nge tjimwe. Misi yose muzwipa ne buhhalo mu n’hingo wa He, muziba kuti, muna He n’hingo wenyu ate uli suli.
