Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry.

Ngwenu, ndoleba nekwe zwinhu zwamakakwala ne kwazo. Kwakalulwama kuti nlume asitongowalilana nhobo ne nkadzi.

  2. English2

But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.

The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband.

    African Kalanga

Nlume ngaape nkadzi uwe fanilo dzidze dze ndobolo ne nkadzi ngaape nlume uwe fanilo dzidze dze ndobolo.

  4. English4

The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.

    African Kalanga

Nkadzi aatolaula mbili uwe, koga unolaugwa ne nlume, ne nlume aatolaula mbili uwe koga unolaugwa ne nkadzi.

  5. English5

Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

    African Kalanga

Musinyimane walilana kuhhe kwe mabvumana kwe lubaka gufutshwanana kuti muzwipe mu kutembezela, koga kubvapo hanganani kakale kuti ndizo Satani asimuwonge ne kong'wa kuzwidziba.

  6. English6

I say this as a concession, not as a command.

    African Kalanga

Ndomubudza ikoku ne ndetjedzelo koga kusi ndayo.

  7. English7

I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.

    African Kalanga

Ndoyemula kuti dzene banhu bose babe benga imi, koga mmwe ne mmwe una tjipo tjitje tjinobva ku Ndzimu, mmwe una etji mmwe una etjiya.

  8. English8

Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am.

    African Kalanga

Kuna ibabo basakalobola ne basakalobogwa ne tjilikadzi ndikati kwakanaka kuti bagale boga sami.

  9. English9

But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

    African Kalanga

Koga ha bekong'wa kuzwibhata ngabalobole, ngobe koyita kulobola pa kupisika ne njemulo.

  10. English10

To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.

    African Kalanga

Kuna bakalobola, ndopa ndayo, kusi imi koga kuli He kuti nkadzi ngaasithubukane ne nlume uwe,

  11. English11

But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.

    African Kalanga

koga ha ethubukana ne nlume, ngaagale asakalobogwa kene abgwililane ne nlume uwe, nlume na iyebo asilambe nkadzi uwe.

  12. English12

To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her.

    African Kalanga

Ku bamwe bose, imi kusi He, ati, ha gamu lina nkadzi usin'galimoyo ngono iwoyu nkadzi ebvuma kugala naye, ngaasinlambe.

  13. English13

And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him.

    African Kalanga

Ha nkadzi ana nlume usi n'galimoyo koga ebvuma kugala naye ngaasinlambe.

  14. English14

For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

    African Kalanga

Ngobe nlume usingagalemoyo unoyengemadziwa ne nkadzi uwe, usingagalemoyo unoamutjigwa ne Ndzimu ne zila ye nlume uwe unogalamoyo. Kuhhe kwa ikoku bana benyu banobe bakatemapala, koga sekwa kuli iko bakayengemala.

  15. English15

But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.

    African Kalanga

Koga ha nkhwinya usingagalemoyo eyemula kuti kuthubukaniwe ngakube sa ikoko. Pakajalo n'galimoyo we tjilume kene we tjikadzi wakasununguka. Ndzimu wakamudana kutjilila mu kunyalala.

  16. English16

How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?

    African Kalanga

Nkadzi, unoziba tjini? Pamwe ungatjidza nlume uwo. Iwe nlume unoziba tjini? Pamwe ungatjidza nkadzi uwo.

  17. English17

Nevertheless, each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches.

    African Kalanga

Tjing'ompela wuti mmwe ne mmwe atjile butjilo gwaakapiwa ndi He, igo gwaakadang'wa kutjilila muguli ne Ndzimu. Oyu nlayo wandinobigila makubungano wose.

  18. English18

Was a man already circumcised when he was called? He should not become uncircumcised. Was a man uncircumcised when he was called? He should not be circumcised.

    African Kalanga

Apa kuna wakabe akathumbigwa kale mu lubaka gwaakadang'wa? Ngaasiduse tjwayo dze kuthumbigwa* kukwe. Apa kuna wakabe asakathumbigwa mu tjibaka tjaakadang'wa kene? Ngaasihake kuti athumbigwe.

  19. English19

Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commands is what counts.

    African Kalanga

Kuthumbigwa akutobva tjimwe ne kusathumbigwa akutobva tjimwe. Tjinobva tjimwe ulondolodza milayo ye Ndzimu.

  20. English20

Each one should remain in the situation which he was in when God called him.

    African Kalanga

Mmwe ne mmwe ngaagale mu tjimo tjaakadang'wa ali mutjili ne Ndzimu.

  21. English21

Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you–although if you can gain your freedom, do so.

    African Kalanga

Apa wakabe uli nlanda pawakadang'wa kene? Kusikudziyidze ikoku. Koga ha uwana tjibaka tje kusununguka, sununguka!

  22. English22

For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord’s freedman; similarly, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.

    African Kalanga

Ngobe nhu wakadang'wa ndi He ali mu bulanda watjibe nhu wa He wakasununguka. Kakale na iye wakadang'wa ali mu sununguko watjibe nlanda wa Khirisiti.

  23. English23

You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.

    African Kalanga

Makatengwa ne themba, ndizo musibe balanda be banhu.

  24. English24

Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to.

    African Kalanga

Ndizo makamu, tjimo kene tjili tjipi nnhu tjaakadang'wa ali mutjili, ngaabe mutjili ne Ndzimu.

  25. English25

Now about virgins: I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy.

    African Kalanga

Ngwenu nekwe basakalobogwa nenge basakalobola, imi andina nlayo unobva kuna He, koga ndopa nkumbulo wangu se nhu unogalikabgwe kuli ne ngoni dza He.

  26. English26

Because of the present crisis, I think that it is good for you to remain as you are.

    African Kalanga

Ndobona kuti nekwe dziyidzika kwe misi ino, koyita, kuti nlume agale sekwa ali iko.

  27. English27

Are you married? Do not seek a divorce. Are you unmarried? Do not look for a wife.

    African Kalanga

Ha wakalobola, usigwise lamba nkadzi. Ha usakalobola, usihake ndobolo.

  28. English28

But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.

    African Kalanga

Koga ha ulobola autotjinya, ne mmwanadi ha elobogwa aatotjinya. Koga ibabo banolobola, bana mang'oni mu butjilo igogu, ngono ndoyemula kumubakilila muna ikoku.

  29. English29

    What I mean, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none;

    African Kalanga

Ndobva kuti zwikamu, lubaka gwakabigwa gwatjibe gufutshwanana. Kubva nasi kuyenda mbeli, ibabo bana bakadzi ngabatjile se basinabo,

  30. English30

    those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep;

    African Kalanga

ne bamu tjililo se basimu tjililo ne bakahanha se bakahoba ne banotenga ngabange basina thundu,

  31. English31

those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.

    African Kalanga

ne banohingidzana ne hango ngabatjile se basingahingidzane nayo; ngobe hango iyeyi sekwa ili iko ngwenu ino pinda.

  32. English32

I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs– how he can please the Lord.

    African Kalanga

Ndohaka kuti musidziyidzike. Nlume usakalobola unolongamoyo mu n’hingo wa He, ngobe ehaka kuhanhisa He.

  33. English33

But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world–how he can please his wife–

    African Kalanga

Koga nlume wakalobola unolongamoyo muna zwe hango, ngobe ehaka kuhanhisa nkadzi uwe,

  34. English34

and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord’s affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world–how she can please her husband.

    African Kalanga

ne mikumbulo iye mibili. Nkadzi kene mmwanadi usakalobogwa unolongamoyo mu mihingo ya He ne kuti ungayengemala mu mbili ne mu meya tjini, koga nkadzi wakalobogwa unolongamoyo muna zwe hango kuti ungahanhisa nlume uwe tjini.

  35. English35

I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.

    African Kalanga

Ndoleba ikoku kubhatsha imwi, ndisingamudzibise, koga ndohaka kuti mutjile ne zila yakalulwama muzwipe kwakapelela kuna He musina mimoyo mibili.

  36. English36

If anyone thinks he is acting improperly toward the virgin he is engaged to, and if she is getting along in years and he feels he ought to marry, he should do as he wants. He is not sinning. They should get married.

    African Kalanga

Ha mmwe ekumbula kuti aatozwibhata ku mmwanadi waakabigilidza, ebona kuti unokong'wa kuzwidziba, kobe kwatjifanila kuti anlobole, ndizo ngaanlobole sekwa anoyemula, ate tjibi.

  37. English37

But the man who has settled the matter in his own mind, who is under no compulsion but has control over his own will, and who has made up his mind not to marry the virgin–this man also does the right thing.

    African Kalanga

Koga iye wakapedza tjose mu moyo uwe, asina tjinommanikanya koga elaula njemulo dzidze, ngono akazwimisila ikoku mu moyo uwe kugala akambiganyidza, unothama zubuyanana.

  38. English38

So then, he who marries the virgin does right, but he who does not marry her does even better.

    African Kalanga

Ndizo iye unolobola mmwanadi iwoyu unothama zubuyanana, koga iye usingalobole unopinda unolobola.

  39. English39

A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.

    African Kalanga

Nkadzi wakasungwa nge tjibvumano* tjaakathama tje ndobolo butjilo gwe nlume uwe gose. Ha nlume efa, nkadzi watjisunuguka kulobogwa ne waanoyemula kulobogwa ndiye, koga wakafanila kube ali n’Khirisiti.

  40. English40

In my judgment, she is happier if she stays as she is– and I think that I too have the Spirit of God.

    African Kalanga

Ngono ungahanha kugala sekwa ali iko kupinda akalobogwa. Imi ndiko sekwa ndinobona, ngono ndobvuma kuti ndina Meya ye Ndzimu.
